I was born in Katwijk, the Netherlands on 29 March 1983 and from the age of four I got interested in nature, especially into birds. My parents had bought me a English Birdbook and translated the names into Dutch. I learned the names of birds quicker than my schoolwork. As a child I was always outside catching frogs and watching birds in the dunes.
I developed a special interest in photography and from the age of 12 I made my first photos. This was the basis of my learning process. At the beginning the photos where all birds positioned in the center of the picture but I wanted that my photos where more than just shots. By experimenting with composition and light the photos became better and better. And still by seeing the photos of other wildlife photographers I learn more and inspires me with new ideas.
 
My photos are published in: Grasduinen, Birding World, Dutch Birding and many local magazines and books, they are also used in newspapers and for commercial promotions.
